Our Mission:

To develop future community leaders by enhancing their knowledge and awareness of the present and future needs of Manatee County.

What is Junior Leadership Manatee?

A program for teens interested in becoming community leaders by enhancing their knowledge of community resources, current issues and other factors influencing the direction of our county's future.

A series of six monthly sessions will expose teens to our county's business and government resources and give them an opportunity to meet our leaders and discuss current issues affecting our community.

What's in it for you?

Get a first hand look at business, government, agriculture, and the media from "behind the scenes."

Meet and discuss with community leaders issues of today and ideas and concerns you have about them.

See what career and employment opportunities are available in our county.

An excellent experience you can include on your resume or college application.

How to apply?

To be eligible for participation, you:

  1. Must be a high school sophomore to apply and a high school junior at the time of participation.
  2. Must have a minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA.
  3. Must attend a mandatory Orientation on Saturday, September 16, 2017 and all program days. (Missing more than one program day may result in being ineligible to complete the program.)
